**The Spring Share is sold out for the 2017 season! Spring is the season for greens! This four week share will start the season off right with a box of early season greens and herbs. Spring vegetables will include lettuce greens, Asian greens, spinach, radishes, turnips, spring onions and herbs. You can expect 5 7 items in each box.
If you're thinking about joining the CSA for the spring season, please keep in mind that the quantity of vegetables you'll receive is smaller than the summer share. It will include a lot of lettuce, spinach and radishes along with specialty items we don't normally put in the box (baby beet greens! baby carrots!). The spring season share is perfect for the CSA aficionado -- someone who loves, loves greens and wants them at their very peak. It might not be great for someone who's never been in a CSA before or who isn't that excited about a different variety of lettuce in their box each week.
Our main season share brings you the freshest vegetables of the season. From June July, expect to see lots of greens with some early root vegetables and a few early summer treats like peas. In late July -- mid-September, the fruiting vegetables kick in, and you can expect lots of tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, along with cooking greens and root vegetables. By mid-September, the cool weather crops get started and your box might include winter squash, brussel sprouts, and rutabega.

Request a Leave
If you have a big trip planned for the summer of 2017, or if you know there's a period of time when you won't be able to pick up your box, you can request a "leave" from those boxes in advance and have their cost prorated. All leave requests must be made by May 1st, 2017. Here's how it works:
Why can't I request a leave at any point in the season? The CSA model works when members sign up in advance and then the farmer grows food for them. The planning and budgeting (and lot of the planting) to make sure we have a plentiful harvest happens before June. We need a clear membership number (and money!) early in the spring to plan and plant accordingly. If 10 members tell us in April that they need a month off in August, we'll plant fewer beans in June. But if they tell us in July that they need a month off in August, we'll have a lot of extra beans. And summer squash. And cucumbers. You get the idea. If you'll be gone for some unplanned pick ups, you can always have friends or family pick up the box, or request to have it donated to a food pantry.
